FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING SERVICE

Every car, truck or SUV today uses fuel injection and fuel injection maintenance is routinely recommended by the manufacturers to help restore maximum power and performance. The burning of the fuel leaves hardened carbon deposits on pistons, valves and fuel injector nozzle heads that interfere with the spray pattern and flow of fuel. The spray from the fuel injectors needs to be wide and fine for the spark to ignite it properly. Dissolving the carbon deposits restores fuel system performance.

SAN CLEMENTE AUTO CENTER 3-STEP FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING SERVICE INCLUDES:

1.) Introducing a liquid in-tank fuel system cleaning agent to the gas pump, fuel lines and injectors by adding cleaner to the gas and running the engine.

2.) Adding a second cleaner directly to the warm engine to remove gunk and carbon deposits from the combustion chambers.

3.) Hand-cleaning the air intake using a third cleaner and bottle brushes to remove rough deposits that disturb air flow and cut efficiency.

Performing fuel system cleaning service:

– removes fuel varnish build-up

– removes intake valve deposits

– reduces cylinder head deposits

– cleans the fuel system

MORE THAN YOU NEED TO KNOW:

SPARK PLUGS

Spark plug delivers electric current from an ignition system to the combustion chamber of a spark-ignition engine. The spark of electricity that the plug emits across a small gap creates the ignition of air-fuel mixture needed to start your car.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD SPARK PLUGS BE REPLACED ON MY VEHICLE?

Most auto manufacturers suggest having new spark plugs installed about every 30,000 miles. Copper plugs have the shortest life, while plugs made of more advanced and durable materials like platinum or iridium can provide up to four times the life of a copper spark plug.

WHY REPLACE SPARK PLUGS?

In order to ignite air-fuel mixture, spark has to travel across a gap of space at the right moment. As spark plugs age, this gap widens. If the gap is too far apart, combustion will be erratic or ineffective. As a result of interaction with the air-fuel mixture, extreme temperatures, debris and normal wear and tear, deposits may form on spark plugs. This can lead to pre-ignition of the fuel, jerky and unreliable supply of ignition energy.

BENEFITS OF REPLACING SPARK PLUGS:

– Your car will start without a hitch.

– Consistent production of optimal combustion.

– Better, more reliable power and acceleration.

– Enhanced throttle response.

– Better fuel economy.

– Less harmful emissions.

HOW INVOLVED IS SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT SERVICE?

The complexity of a spark plug replacement varies from straightforward to very involved. The engine must be worked on when the parts are cold, and the amount of time it takes to complete the service varies by make and model. Plan ahead, because a vehicle drop-off is usually required.
